Job Description:
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for the
development and implementation of the organization's strategic HR
initiatives and objectives as it pertains to planning,
implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources
policies, programs, and practices.Essential Functions of the
Job:
- Oversee the Human Resource Dept and its team members in daily
operations, including the HR Manager
- Coordinate with the HR Manager to ensure all new team members
are trained completely and accurately
- Develop, review, propose, and implement new and revised
policies and procedures
- Partner with Operations Team to create, execute, and automate
company-wide employee training and onboarding
- Collaborate with Safety Committee and Workers' Compensation
carriers to reduce work-related injuries, develop and maintain
transitional duty programs, add and remove states to policies, and
meet other WC-related goals
- Collaborate with liability insurance providers to assist in the
mediation and resolution of liability claims
- Work with legal counsel as necessary, including the enforcement
of non-competition agreements
- Research, develop, and propose new or renewed health insurance
policies and other employee benefits
- Partner with the HR Manager to ensure internal employee
onboarding audits are completed
- Research existing and changing workplace trends and propose
changes as necessary
- Partner with the HR Manager to ensure completion of UC and WC
claims, and employee evaluations
- Ensure the HR Dept maintains new and existing health insurance
policies for internal and external staff
- Ensure proper progressive discipline, termination, and
resignation processes are followed for internal staff
- Complete all research, tasks, and special projects as directed
by the Executive Team
- Investigate complaints that are elevated to the VP of HR in an
accurate and professional manner
- Conduct employee mediations that are elevated to the VP of
HR
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission
regulations
- Maintain professional working relationships and interactions
with all departments and offices
- Maintain confidentiality standards daily
- Work in an office environment on a full-time basis unless
otherwise specified by the Executive TeamRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree or equivalent work
experience preferred
- Relevant Human Resource certification preferred, i.e., SHRM-CP,
PHR, etc.
- Prior experience in a professional work environment
- Customer service and conflict resolution skills
- General knowledge and capability to operate office
equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attend all Manager and Assistant Manager meetings, both on-site
and off-site when notified in writing by DNA of required
attendance
- Meet or exceed all essential functions of the job, including
but not limited to, work performance goalsPhysical Demands:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for the duration of
the workday
- Ability to move about the office, bend, and reach
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionallyWork
Environment:Generally, works in an office environment but may
occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the
typical office setting if specified by the Executive Team.
