The role requires an agile engineering mindset, patience and persistence to solve complex problems, ability to get things done quickly but thoughtfully, and roll up the sleeves to dig deep into technology.

You will be working on the systems that provide the future visions of the digital experiences for Northwestern Mutual. We need engineers who can help us mature our space and take our applications to the next level. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical leadership to team, in addition to hands on development in solution delivery.
• Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department.
• Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division.
• Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems.
  Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-5+ years of development experience in Python, Databricks, S3, SQL, Nodejs.
  • 4-5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning.
  • Experience developing solutions using agile methods.
  • Mentor for junior team members by reviewing code.
  • Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms.
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business.
  • Manages own time to meet objectives.
  • Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture. #LI-Hybrid Compensation Range: Pay Range - Start: $100,030.00 Pay Range - End: $185,770.00 Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
