Compudopt is a leading national nonprofit organization that aims
to provide technology access and education to under-resourced youth
and their communities by bridging the digital divide. Compudopt is
seeking a seasoned Vice President of Technical Operations to lead
the strategy for its national logistics, IT systems, systems
design, and technology operations while managing multiple competing
priorities. As the organization experiences rapid growth, this role
requires strong executive leadership capabilities to drive
operational excellence, scalability, and innovation. The VP of
Technical Operations will focus on delivering best-in-class service
to both internal and external stakeholders while inspiring and
managing a geographically dispersed team to ensure effective
collaboration across all regions. Key responsibilities include
overseeing the computer refurbishment process, maintaining
industry-leading data destruction practices, managing e-waste
recycling vendors, and generating new revenue streams from surplus
technology. Additionally, the Vice President of Technical
Operations will spearhead efforts to drive e-commerce revenue and
ensure that the technology infrastructure supports the
organization's growth trajectory. This leadership role will work
closely with other departments to align operational efficiencies
with organizational goals. This position is remote and will require
up to 50% travel throughout the United States.The Vice President of

by starting with yes.Major Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain for receiving,
refurbishing, and distributing donated computers.
- Develop strategies for optimizing national logistics and
transportation, including partnerships with carriers and
fulfillment centers.
- Manage warehousing, inventory, and shipping processes to ensure
timely delivery of products to recipients.
- Lead the process for refurbishing donated computers, ensuring
they meet quality standards and performance benchmarks.
- Implement best practices for testing, upgrading, and certifying
hardware and software.
- Continuously improve the refurbishment workflow to increase
efficiency and maximize output.
- Responsible for maintaining all certifications related to the
refurbishment and data wiping process.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of internal IT systems,
including networks, cloud solutions, and data security.
- Ensure all technology systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, and donor
management platforms) are optimized for cross-departmental
use.
- Lead system design and implementation of IT infrastructure to
support organizational growth.
- Manage and grow the organization's eBay and other e-commerce
platforms, ensuring profitability through the sale of refurbished
products.
- Develop pricing strategies and marketing initiatives to
increase online sales.
- Oversee inventory management, product listings, customer
service, and fulfillment for online sales.
- Lead and mentor the technical operations team, including
logistics, IT, and refurbishment staff.
- Foster collaboration across departments, including development,
marketing, and programs, to ensure alignment with organizational
objectives.
- Provide technical and operational insight to support grant
applications and reporting.
- Analyze and optimize all technical operations for
cost-effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability.
- Develop KPIs and performance metrics to measure operational
success and make data-driven decisions.
- Identify and implement new tools, technologies, and processes
to improve operational efficiencies.
- Develop and manage the annual budget ensuring efficient
resource allocation and financial sustainability.
- Perform other related duties as
assigned.Qualifications:Required:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 10 years experience in technical operations,
logistics, IT systems management, or a related field, with at least
5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience managing national logistics and supply chain
operations, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven
organization.
- Experience with refurbishment processes for electronics or
technology, including hardware testing, repair, and quality
control.Preferred:
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or
university in information technology, computer science, or a
related discipline.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent communication, written, interpersonal, and
organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and
prioritize work.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, system design, and
network security.
- Experience with refurbishment processes for electronics or
technology, including hardware testing, repair, and quality
control.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue through e-commerce
platforms (e.g., eBay) or online retail sales.
- Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of
successfully scaling operations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a
strong commitment to the mission of bridging the digital
divide.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and IT compliance
standards.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector or social
